Submit a Proposal for IEEE RFID 2027

The IEEE Council on RFID is  soliciting proposals from academic institutions, research centers, and industry partners to host IEEE RFID 2027 in the United States.

The IEEE International Conference on RFID (IEEE RFID) is a premier forum dedicated to advances in radio-frequency identification, IoT, sensing, and wireless systems. The conference is sponsored by the IEEE Council on RFID (CRFID) and typically co-located with IEEE Wireless Power Week (WPW) and other related events.

IEEE RFID rotates geographically, with a strong presence in the United States due to its industrial relevance.

The conference includes:

  • Technical paper sessions
  • Keynotes and invited talks
  • Tutorials and workshops
  • Student competitions and doctoral consortia
  • Industry exhibitions and panels

Important Timeline

  • Proposal submission deadline: June 1, 2026
  • Decision announcement: During IEEE RFID 2026 (June 16-18)
  • Conference timeframe: Typically May-June

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS The IEEE Council on RFID seeks nominations for volunteer council officers serving two-year terms beginning on 1 January 2027.   Secretary/Treasurer: Be responsible for all reports, petitions, and records concerning the Council; keeping true and faithful minutes of all Council meetings; and preparing reports required by the Council, TAB, or the IEEE Executive Committee. Announce the time, place, and agenda of AdCom and ExCom meetings, record attendance, and establish/discern quorum. Soundarya Korlapati is a Senior Research Engineer for Retail Applications at the Auburn University RFID Lab, a research institute at the forefront of the business case and technical implementation of RFID and emerging technologies across retail, supply chain, and manufacturing.
