The IEEE Journal of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) publishes peer-reviewed articles advancing the theory, algorithms, design, implementation, and applications of RFID systems. The journal covers emerging research and commercial trends, with applications spanning healthcare, asset monitoring, security, finance, energy, transportation, and beyond.
This call for papers intends to solicit contributions in all areas pertinent to RFID, including but not limited to:
- Antenna design and implementation
- RFID tags and readers
- RFID chipless
- Circuits and systems
- Protocols and networks
- Signal propagation and processing
- Energy harvesting
- Data and power transfer
- Modulation schemes
- Modeling, simulation, and implementation
- RFID sensors
- Near-field communications
- Smart living, smart cities, and the Internet of Things (IoT)
- Logistics and supply chain management
- RFID design and manufacturing processes
- RFID applications in healthcare, finance, transportation, security, food science, and inventory management
- RFID-enabled tracking of information, location, assets, energy, and people
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished research on RFID and related fields.
Accepted papers are published online in in Early Access in the IEEE Xplore as soon as the paper is accepted and they can be cited immediately using their digital object identifier (DOI). JRFID follows a volume-only publication model.
Please submit your manuscript through the IEEE Author Portal. Manuscript templates are available on the IEEE Author Center.
To find and download the appropriate template for JRFID, follow the prompts in the interactive IEEE Template Selector.
The average turn-around time (from submission to first decision) is 6 weeks.
The articles in this journal are peer reviewed in accordance with the requirements set forth in the IEEE Publication Services and Products Board Operations Manual. Each published article was reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers using a single-blind peer review process, where the identities of the reviewers are not known to the authors, but the reviewers know the identities of the authors. Articles will be screened for plagiarism before acceptance.
JRFID allows for a maximum of one major revision. If the manuscript requires a second major revision, it may be rejected, but authors may resubmit the paper if they are able to fully address all reviewers’ concerns and provide an adequate response.
The following IEEE member societies sponsor the Journal.
